A Snapshot: Nakano Broadway and Its Many Oddities

I had a bit of time to kill before meeting up with a friend later in the day, so I decided to do a bit of exploring. Nakano, one of the many notable stops along the Chuo Line, was always on my list of places to check out (I lived only several stations away as an ICU student) but I never got around to making the trip... until now, that is.


A short stroll down a covered road lined with shops ends at a peculiar building, my target for an afternoon of exploration: Nakano Broadway.


Inside, scattered throughout the numerous floors of the building lies one of Tokyo's Meccas of Japan pop culture and general otakudom. There are shops selling anime, manga, vintage toys, model robots, signed sketches of Japanese animated classics, cosplay attire... you name it! Shown below are some of the interesting finds I made while partaking in some window shopping:
